What is the DESRES interview process like, and how much domain-specific knowledge should I expect to be asked in the interview? The team I’m interviewing for is working on learning models for drug discovery (specific focus on protein-protein interactions). Super nervous rn since I haven’t touched any thermo or biophysics since university. Will the interview focus on just the math and CS concepts or will they require knowledge beyond that?
Not sure which position this was for. I have a PhD in molecular biophysics and I interviewed on-site for postdoc role in late 2019 - full day of ~8 interviews. Almost all questions were domain-specific and, specifically, related to how my research is beneficial to DESRES + what kind of projects I'd want to do if i joined. At least 2 of them had a very hard time understanding my research/it's relevance. Didn't get an offer
Bump. Can anyone weigh in?
Any updates?
Hey, curious as to how the interview went (if you remember that is)? What was the level of difficulty and overall process like? Anything to look out for. I am also worried about the level of domain-specific (e.g. comp chem, biophysics, etc.) knowledge needed, as I need to brush up on those concepts from uni as well.
