Youโve seen experienced offers for <400k? I thought that was around new grad offer (incl sign on)
A friend of mine got 375k as a new grad at DESCO, without competing offers. I don't have datapoints on experienced hires, but I'd be shocked if their offer is <600k for 2yoe.

So 2.3M after taxes in 10 years in NYC, the only place where these quant jobs are offered. Minus the living expenses, account for rising home prices and you gotโฆ. Decent upper middle class in that area!
