I’m teaching myself DEVOPS and want to get a job within the next 3 months I’ve already taught myself: Git Linux Docker Jenkins Tomkat Sonarqube Maven Github bit bucket Some shell scripting And am currently learning Kubernetes Maybe terraform By this, do you think I’m on the right path and will be ready? Also - any tips on how to position myself and the kind of roles to look for? Any guidance on stuff that worked for you or TC is greatly appreciated Many thanks
Just apply. You're never going to be 100% ready.
Focus on linux, terraform, some kind of ci/cd, and programming. Those topics expand into deeper specializations as you gain experience.
Thanks. What’s the TC that I can expect? And how are the teams structured usually
What’s your TC and YoE?
I didn’t work in DEVOPS But my friends tell me it doesn’t matter if I am good with the tools and concepts Currently at 180k
Priority should be AWS, kubernetes, terraform, python or golang, ci cd. Rest all tech can follow later.
Thank you. What should I learn in AWS
Pick a course on udemy. AWS certified solutions architect associate course.
Do you have any cloud certs? That can help get in door if you don’t have referrals…
Not yet. But I can work on them. Which ones should I prioritize
