Oracle IceCreamer Jan 4, 2023

OCI is fully remote

Oracle blicks OP Jan 4, 2023

Not at Oracle anymore I think OCI has a lot of remote ones, btw

I think your post pretty much answers itself

For traveling within the US, Dallas seems to be the better pick as it's in the middle of the country and DFW is a major airhub. But Raleigh seems to be the overall better pick.

Oracle blicks OP Jan 4, 2023

Fair enough! I might have got that wrong. Dallas also is southwest hub

Amazon wlWz13 Jan 4, 2023

And American airlines

I have spent few months in both places. I would pick Raleigh for weather and outgoing activities. You can drive to New York in 10 hrs. Also mountain ranges are not that far. Beautiful terrain. Dallas for food and community because I am Indian so that’s plus for me. Dallas is also much larger county. There are like 2-3 major cities in dallas county. So better infra.

Box chylly Jan 4, 2023

Morrisville which is close to Raleigh is like little India.

From my experience, gongura chutney dominates Dallas and its even stevens between idly sambar, dhokla and saag paneer in the Raleigh area!

Why submit yourself to a life of a 50 year old when you’re 30 and earning decent money? Go live in cities, eat at the best restaurants, watch the best entertainment, walk through art galleries, talk to people who have made millions of dollars and see what you can apply to your life.

Oracle blicks OP Jan 4, 2023

We did plenty of that. Just looking into the next phase of our lives as we see it

I understand stripe’s perspective. Pot makes everything good 😇

Raleigh is very good option. It is closer to many East Coast cities. Also, housing will have more options and cost effective. I would choose Releigh

Microsoft YOhw87 Jan 4, 2023

I live in Raleigh and have lived in Dallas before. Tough pick but I’d say the weighing factor is the type of a activities you like. Raleigh is 2 hours from beaches and 3-4 from mountains. Plus Raleigh is not far from DC, NY, and other areas of interest.

Oracle blicks OP Jan 4, 2023

Could you list any pros of Dallas that we might have missed?

Meta dalifornia Jan 4, 2023

Which beach? Seriously there are no good beaches in NC (nothing that'd compare with FL or HI beaches)

Meta dalifornia Jan 4, 2023

How is Raleigh easier travel to europe?

Oracle blicks OP Jan 4, 2023

DC is a 4h drive. Or flights to NYC are only an hour and half

Google musksucks Jan 4, 2023

East coast vs central (Dallas)

Box chylly Jan 4, 2023

Pick Raleigh. I know people that live in that area that love it.

Unless someone is traveling every month, this is a moot point.
