At the Hilton union square for a confrence. This was the surrounding area I walked through once in the afternoon once in the early night late evening. I thought people were exaggerating but I've seen it all just in two days ambulance saving a OD a homeless guy sleeping under a plank a homeless guy that attacked some Indian guy in the liquor store crazy people on the street yelling. A naked guy injecting something. Probably human feces on the street? People want to pay 3k a month in rent to live here? Lol
You from the medieval midwest?
CO which is slowly becoming like this hellhole I am visiting
I loved what colorado used to be
It wasn't good 10 years ago, but it's gotten much much worse. This is a result of woke policies. Namely, the notion that if someone is worse off than you you can't do anything bad to them or you are not being compassionate.
I think it's starting to turn around (see breed comments after school board vote, or NYC/la/Boston recent moves on homeless encampments). But it's too late. With remote work, the bay is losing its appeal.
It really is too bad because I love sf. The weather, people, history, beauty. There isn't a comparable city. But it was too woke from the start and instead of becoming a major modern city, pushed development into urban sprawl in the south bay.
Yea itโs like a Fox News hit piece about the dangers of socialism come to life. I was a liberal when I moved to SF and a moderate when I moved out
Should have stayed a bit longer to have become fully conservative
Holy...same here. I lived there for a few years and I came to the same realization. Then I left. The city could've been cute and nice. But I truly believe the liberals failed the city. I am no longer liberal.
The Ministry of Truth says you're wrong. Things are perfectly idyllic in the city by the bay. Get with the narrative.
There is no war in Ba Sing Se.

I'm homeless
Trade offs
Its cause all these fancy boy bay area people don't want a homeless shelter around them and dont want to let affordable housing exist
Youve never been to nyc but adamant its happening in NYC? Its bad in SF. Its nowhere this bad in NYC. I thought Houston was worse than NYC
Youโve never been to NYC and youโre making comments like this? ๐คก๐คก๐คก
Some parts(Tenderloin, Soma, Bayview), yes, it is even worse in person. Other parts (Outer Richmond, Sunset, Marina), not at all.
Richmond and Sunset with their huge Asian senior populations are big targets for thugs from the East Bay ....
^ houses are getting broken into and people are getting mugged so often in Richmond and Sunset since Covid
Sorry you were in tenderloin not union square
Yet we are spending billions in the war
Does CA / SFnot have enough money to deal with it?
That's about as relevant as Apple's $202B cash reserve.
