Walmart software/security engineers should be ashamed for not being to able to prevent bots and scalpers on the Ps5 release. Couldn’t get to checkout page on any of the timed stock releases! Hope you do a better job for the 3pm ET release on Nov 19...
I see you're with Amazon, not sure how you can critique walmart for not handing the ps5 launch well when people were able to able to buy ps5s from Amazon before we opened the landing page by simply editing the ASIN in our ATC form lmao. Same thing with the pre-orders, people leaked the ASIN and before it showed up in search and when the detail page was activated we were sold out because people just url hacked to the detail page
Not saying Amazon didn’t screw it up either
LOL don’t we feel a little silly now OP? Maybe shitposting about our engineers was not the best move.
Amazon salty for not able to buy a ps5 from Walmart?
OP is sus
I was able to procure one today after the last weeks 0/4 attempts.
Lol, atleast they had captcha to prevent bots and always declared ahead when they are going to sell. Where as amazon didn't even do anything special 😂
Captcha did a good time preventing humans too 😂
Captcha does not prevent bots. ReCAPTCHA is essentially defeated.
Should have bought it when they announced pre released instead of blaming the whole company P.S I am not with amzn or wmt
Ah yes, if only it were that easy.
Bro why do you think Walmart or Amazon cares if the order is done by bot or person?
They actually do. I won't share much details but we'd rather sell to a customer rather than a bot.
Unless it's a financial reason, their stated preference for selling to individual customers is just kool-aid. I imagine there is actually lower cases of fraud and even economies of scale shipping larger orders.
They care because of customer experience
They get money and they good - try GameStop but they have a bundle
Remember the first prime day sale? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Dogs of amazon remembers too

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Lol I had a ps5 in my cart, went to checkout, then the site crashed & came back up a few mins later and there were no more ps5’s in stock. Seems as though they’re not even trying to prepare for the demand.
That’s because they’re not. Why would you invest in building a better website for 1 product when you know regardless of what the experience is, people will come back and try again.
Auto scale on demand is an old technology
