Data engineer need suggestion to learn more skills and earn more

Hey guys, Looking for some suggestion/career guidance. This is going to be a long post :) About me I have 8 years and 6 months as toe. I am working as a data engineer and I changed my role to data engineering like 2 years back. And before that I was working as a python infra automation/tool development roles. During initial phase of my career I was working as a Java Dev for enterprise app in a MNC it’s nothing more than just a maintainance role. I have experience in building backend api using python spark and other big data tech to expose data for consumption and also in data warehousing using big data tech in the last 2 roles I worked with. I made a recent change and the job sucks I was promised that I would work on amazing tech like containerised apps orchestrated by k8s on top of argo and spark to write a scalable apps but after joining I could see it’s not the case. I want to make a switch after a year or 2 because I already switched 2 jobs in last year. So I don’t want my resume to look bad in the eyes of hiring managers. (Taking a year so that I want to build a scalable app as a serious side project to get confident and as a part of preparation as well) After looking at many blind posts I could see i am getting way less TC. if I want to up my TC and have a challenging/meaningful work what would be your suggestion? Getting into data Dev role with api Dev roles or getting stronger in data engineering tools and related tech especially on warehousing side? Or stop reading blind posts about TC altogether. Your thoughts would greatly help me get a direction in career. My objective finally is to get into huge MNCs with stocks option such as Apple, Google, MS, LinkedIn etc. My fear is that after having 10 years of experience getting into these companies would get harder? As expectations increases with experience. My toe 8 years and 6 months TC 36 LPA , Fixed 32 LPA and bonus 4 LPA and no stocks with joining bonus of 3 LPA TIA #dataengineer #dataengineerinterview #Bangalore #techcareer #career
