I'm not based in NL and want to live in bigger tech hubs (SV or some other place that's gonna be hot in 10 years). Generally, I'm interested in career progression in the long run and while reading threads from Blind I got an impression that both Databricks and Amsterdam relocation might not be aligned with my priorities. I like the product and enjoyed the interviewing loop though TC 🥜 Offer TC: €152 @177 YOE 2.5
That's awesome. I recently interviewed with booking.com. TC €115k for 8 yoe. Could you help me do contacts from Databricks
I applied through the jobs portal and I guess you don't need referrals here
Databricks generally does not pay more than booking. Those numbers are really off for those years of exp in amsterdam, must be an exception?
@OP why do you say career progression doesn't aligns with working at Databricks? I understand Amsterdam might not have as many opportunities as London (or maybe Berlin as well). It would be great if you can share the comp split and interview process as well! 🙂
Plenty of comments on Blind saying that promo at Databricks is slow Split is 82 / 23% bonus(NL specific bonus included) / rest is RSUs Process is HR-phone screen-manager screen-onsite-take home and reference check
Thanks for the info. Depending on where you are from and if you want to move to US, databricks is a good option. From my experience no one from databricks replies here on blind, better connect with someone over linkedin and verify if moving is an option. BTW are stocks split over 4 years with 1 year cliff?
Don’t forget taxes in The Nederlands are like 50% if not more on that salary. Make sure you find out how much the cost of living is there and how much you’ll end up saving. If you are happy with everything go for it!
In the first five years you pay less taxes than that if you come from abroad
How many stocks did you get? Also what is your base? Did you get any reloc or sign in bonus?
Databricks HQ is in San Francisco. You should be able to move after a couple of years. They seem to have smart engineers, and interesting products. Unless you have better offers in hand, seems like a no brainer.
Interesting. Care to elaborate?
Interesting. I interviewed at Amsterdam recently, and the people I spoke to seemed happy with their work.
Can you tell offer split?
82k 23% rest is stock He said in the thread

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
Which level did they offer you? Also what would be the alternatives? It seems a no brainer to me... Databricks is super hot rn and they can also relocate you to the bay if that's what you want. Btw how was the interview loop like?
Level is L4. Alternative would be to stay at my current job and look for London/APJ opportunities. Loop is HR->phone screen->manager screen->onsite->take home and reference check. Wasn't really hard for me, I think the bar rises steeply at L5
What kind of skills were tested? Just LC or something else? Also, what's APJ?
