Databricks is almost FAANG
Heard good/bad things about it. Title are pretty bloated, so don’t be surprised when ur manager has 3/4 YOE lol
This is kind of true for just the management track I believe. Even then those 3/4 year managers are like literal geniuses. The SWE ladder is pretty standard and I think the competition to grow is actually very hard since everyone around you is also super smart and hard working.
Hey @Databricks, can I please dm you for a referral?
I'll find out in a month and let you know :)
What was your offer? And current tc?
Update?
FB also has many 3/4 YOE managers.
Seriously? People become E6 in 4 YoE?
Our SVP of Engineering recently left to "spend more time with family" but later took a job as SVP of Eng + Prod at Twilio. I don't know why he would leave if DB were a top-level company, but who knows --maybe SWEs weren't happy with him. Our stability on Azure was pretty terrible last year.
It’s a nice way of “you are fired”.
Hey @Databricks, can I please dm you for a referral?
And what did you think about that svp that left?
I don't think that's true, I guess it depends on the people you talked to? The company is doing pretty well in terms of numbers.
Feel the same
What is the vision for databricks?
Do you know what resident solution architect are paid ?
Curious to know and find this out too
Yes. They’re able to consistently pull some of the smartest people I know from Google and sometimes for even less money. They must be doing something right.
