Interviewing with databricks now. Recruiter told me my target level is L4 and L5 requires “8-10 YoE”. From my own research it seems that DB’s level is copied from Google. It seems a downlevel to me. Should I continue to interview with them? YoE 5. E5 at FB. Current TC 330.
I expect fb e5 TC will be higher than 330k

Sorry I’m not aware of the YOE trick. Is it just the recruiter trying to downlevel to give OP less TC?
The bar is getting higher each time. But even with L4, they should be able to match/beat your current TC easily with 28B valuation
Leveling is an exact copy from Google. Recruiters are recruiters...
They will make you run hoops and then will sell you that we will be 3x. Many people wasted their time.
If you just got promoted to E5 then it may be reasonable. If have been E5 for two three years definitely push recuitor for a level 5 panel.
That's bullshit. Same levels as Google or Facebook.
Recruiter can have their opinion based on your background for leveling but it’s ultimately decided during our second phone interview with the engineering hiring manager (or at least what level we want to consider you for on-site). I wouldn’t withdraw quite yet and see what your feedback is from your first two phone interviews.
Those who voted, could you share the reason?
I know several FB e5 that went as L5 with less than 7 YOE to DB. Zero reason to consider taking a downlevel.
