Databricks vs optiver

Comparing 2 offers: Databricks: 380k - half cash and half equity Optiver: 450k - all cash (base and bonus) Both are same level for software engineer (L4) and I have 3 YOE. I like the work I will be doing at both places. I do care about career progression, compensation growth, and the prestige of the company. Would love to get advice on what to pick and why. I’m leaving a poll but please also comment and add your thoughts :) My main concern is if I choose Optiver, would that harm my chances of coming back to tech? Whereas on the other hand, Databricks may be better for prestige? #compensation #tc #optiver #databricks #offer #software #swe

Damn 450k all cash is insane, I’d take that tbh

How can you be so successful?

Databricks and most startups will probably go through a shit ton of down rounds

From my understanding optiver is like Jane street level. Kudos you must be talented. I’d go for that

Databricks DanAnker Sep 27, 2022

It’s not

I wish, but we aren't quite there yet. I would say we are the best firm right under the top dogs {CitSec, HRT, JS, Jump} as far as revenue/talent density is concerned. I don't know much about comp progression at these places are, but there is a good chance Optiver is close to the top by virtue of the marble system
