Deciding between Amazon Music & Apple TDG
Have two new SDE offers. Pls help me decide Amazon Music (L4) TC: ~$220K Apple TDG (AR/VR stuff) ICT3 (internal transfer) TC: $180k (ICT 3) Pros and cons: Apple TDG: Pros - Exciting product; A lot of hype around Apple TDG ( AR/VR stuff) - Getting into AR/VR realm early might pay off better in the long run -Better benefits Cons: - Lower pay :/ - Probably longer commute Amazon Music: Pros - Heard it’s one of the better orgs in Amazon culture wise - learning opportunities with consumer facing product - Higher TC Cons - On-calls - Potential pip culture - The product is meh. Spotify and Apple are in the lead 2+ YEO #offer #offers
If amazon music is meh i think u will get a better opportunity in terms of growth and contribution. You can contribute to make the meh product to lead product in the market. Amazon is not a company who likes to stay behind other products... Instead you can think on other factors like wlb and culture and how comfortable you are to work more to grow more :) I m note sure on apple side wlb and all.
True but in reality…how much difference can I actually make? It is a huge org. I could climb the ladder overtime and become more powerful but I don’t know about the first 2 years
