IMHO.. 7 years back I was in an elevator in a big shopping mall which was newly opened at that time in Chennai. There were two families. One well dressed with a small boy and has shopping cart full of toys, goodies, stuffs.. another family who were dressed very normal with a small boy carrying a tote bag. The boy with a tote bag was staring eagerly at the cart and he even touched those toys in other’s cart. His parents were controlling him not to do that. But we know it’s hard for that little kid. The main problem is we are growing too fast without proper equity. I am in my mid 40’s.. too many times I lost friends or circle because they have out grown me or I have out grown them or due to change in places. Even I have wider difference with my Sister family who lives in India. Her husband never traveled to US as he felt my niece and nephew would feel bad seeing all the bigger house ( bigger is relative ), Mercedes etc we had. So our family lost a good touch with nearest relative. As the economy is expanding too fast, we already know the distribution of money is arbitrary, many times not fair. Another bigger problem is these fast expansion also causes insecurity. I am an empty nester and thought saved enough for being financially independent and retire early., and one friend told me I need 3X the net worth to retire than what I have. So I feel if I take a break from stressful work, I will be left behind and might be hard to meet ends with uncertainty of future inflation. I think we are in an unsustainable growth period which (I) harms planet (2) strains society and (3) harms individual mental/physical health. Hope we change the way how society works. We should work and innovate based on curiosity and passion and not because of TC ( currently most of us work because of TC 😢). Too much free money coming to companies like Amazon, Facebook, Apple because of networked customer lock or ecosystem. It creates imbalances and time to time society has to intervene to make balance. Agree. Thanks for the rational perspective.
Focus on being present and you’ll find yourself more at peace and more often experiencing a state of happiness. Remember, you are super blessed and you have so much more than others. Count your blessings
I don’t regret at all. I want to help in changing the world with better socio economic doctrine.
Yes please quit and join a company that's more meaningful and pays you 🥜🥜
I agree Amazon is a not an ideal place.
Nope, all you need is to search for average Indian income, which is 2000 dollar per year
This financial class difference is everywhere. I don't know how to fix the problem. I'm just another person who has lived in both sides.
F off
Don't waste others time with these f..ing posts
It’s an endless cycle, the more we get the more we want. If you care about chasing money and giving value to things that don’t matter then it will influence your children to have similar mindset and they’ll also get stuck in this rat race feeling never content.
If you can only socialize with people in the same economic situation and location, you're fked. Just learn how to not let other people feel uncomfortable around you and things work out.
But where’s the TC and YoE
