I have an upcoming interview with Deepmind for SWE position, coming from systems heavy background, no ML or Maths experience. Was wondering if anyone could provide more context on what to expect from the interview process. Appreciate it :) #engineering #software #swe #deepmind
Standard leetcode medium I would say, nothing crazy.
I heard there is a CS questionnaire type interview, is it still the case?
I didn’t get anything of the sort
Hey sorry for the delay! Counting all interviews, I had 3 coding rounds, 1 sys design, 1 with the team lead (somewhat technical, but not really), and the rest were purely non-technical. The sys design wasn’t your standard FAANG sys design interview. I was asked to describe in as much detail as possible a recent project I was involved in. I chose something that had a sys design element to it, so I could talk about the same ideas, not sure if that’s necessary. All in all, I didn’t find the process to be significantly harder than another FAANG. Fairly positive experience overall, just frustratingly slow between stages, which can be annoying if you have offers.
>and the rest were purely non-technical Was it a standard Googleyness+Leadership or something else? 🤔 How many non-tech sounds (and for which engineering level, if it's not a secret)?
Standard leadership stuff. I think it was like 3 or 4 non-tech. I was not told the level.
