Hello blind, I had google onsite in Jan 2020 and couldn't make the cut (scheduling error by recruiter caused me to give 9 rounds of interview(1 OA, 1 Phone screen, 7 rounds of onsite(4 coding, 1 googly, 2 system design). On the day of onsite, instead of 2 coding and 2 sys design, all 4 ended up being coding, so they called me again for the missed sys design rounds where again the recruiment co-ordinator messed up and we didn't have a Whiteboard/Jam board for 15 mins and so I had only 30 mins for one interview. Fast forward, after HC, the recruiter said I didn't do well in sys design/sys int, and can try again after 6 months. While I was waiting for the HC review, where I was 80% sure of making thru the HC, I was in a very positive mindset with great confidence and also cleared the Deloitte digital Onsite received an offer. 155k base, 18% bonus, 10k sign on. But then the Google HC rejection came, and I'm low on confidence to attend the Amazon phone screen next week. Should I accept the Deloitte offer and keep trying for FAANG? Or stay at my current place(which is not a great place to work, with a total TC of 150) Also, is it okay to try for FAANG within 6 months of joining at Deloitte? TL;DR: Accept Deloitte and then try for FAANG soon after or Accept Deloitte and then try for FAANG after 1-2 years at Deloitte or stay where I'm and try FAANG(which is my last preference and would only take this if it's bad to switch within 6-8 months of joining deloitte) Current TC: 150k YoE: 11 #Google HC #Amazon #deloitte
Faang are not the only place to work for. Deloitte is a Great company. Take it , you will gain more experience and be exposed to more companies.
No doubt about it and there’s a lot to learn in consulting. but my first 5 years in product development and last 7 years have been in consulting, I was sort of interviewing to go back for product development for a few years, which is why I wanted to try FAANG as I have anyways spent my last 4 months on leetcoding
Amazon > DD haha
Join Deloitte. Slog hard for 5 years. Become a partner. Breeze through +1 million salaries as a partner and multi billion fund backing you up in retirement
I couldn't live with myself working for Deloitte or any of the big consulting companies. Mind numbing bs with crappy work and learning bad habits. Do yourself a favor, stay away.
Well it's not crappy work, it's sales. As a partner you are expected to sell and lead teams. IMHO not many jobs get you that kind of leadership experience that quickly.
Amazon then Google
