Recently, I was supposed to fly to dubai on 5th November 2023 from Newark from united airlines. My itinerary looked like 1) Seattle to Newark - United airlines 4th Nov 2) Newark to Dubai - United airlines 5th Nov 3) Dubai to Mumbai - Air India 9th Nov As I am an Indian passport holder with US visa on it so as per UAE visa guidelines I am eligible for visa on arrival (for 14 days). It is written on United airlines website as well as on UAE embassy website. I took my seattle to newark overnight flight. Early morning, after reaching to newark I contacted united customer service and asked to allow me checkin for my next flight( i.e. Dubai) . The lady on the counter called someone and asked about my visa on arrival case. She took my US visa number and later said we can’t verify your US visa so we can’t check you in. I tried explaining my case but she denied. I was there at the airport for 4-5 hrs considering something might work but nothing happened. Later i was so exhausted that I booked a hotel in newark and a flight to india departing the next day. Now, how can I raise this case? I want united to pay me compensation as I have to cancel all my bookings in dubai and incur a loss of $2000. #travel #vacation

This is very surprising that united did not check all your visa stuff at Seattle. They should have let you know then and there
