It’s got so much hype for no reason like Austin. What’s your opinion. It’s sort of expensive and the job market is disappointing given that. TC 0
Beautiful nature though, and income tax is reasonable
Denver is in the middle of nowhere, but Austin is more fun except the heat in summer
It's in the middle though, so flying is easy. Where are you driving to from Austin that isn't Dallas or Houston? I feel like I'd be going to the airport in either of these places and denver is a motel significant airport.
Definitely overrated, as someone who lives in Colorado. But if you’re anything like the average Coloradan, it can be a great place. The job market isn’t great for tech
Can always grab a remote job though, right? That's what I have been doing since 2019 anyways What IS Colorado good for locally? Like I don't know what locals have as a profession to pay these housing costs
Overrated, but a nice quiet place to raise a family.
Denver is over hyped . The ski slopes and the trails are not easily accessible anymore . If you can wake up at 4 AM on a Saturday morning and drive 3 hours , braving a blizzard and not worry about roadblocks etc you can ski for a few hours . Expect the same on the drive back home. In the summers , same problem for hiking . Need to get to the mountains around 6 AM to find parking . and the famous “300 days of sunshine “ is a realtor slogan from the 60s and 70s . It is more like “60 days of wind , 60 days of forest fire , more unpredictable weather rest of the time “ .
Pretty much on target
Where would you point people instead. It was pretty sunny when I lived there. It didn't feel like a fake review at all. I wish the houses were 400k instead of 600k+ now though The traffic comments are on point though. I only went to the mountains once a year, as I found my community in the city area and never cared for winter sports. I liked looking at mountains in the distance tho. Amazing sunsets 😀

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
You don’t sound like an outdoor enthusiast- the draw to Denver is 1-2hr from every outdoor sport and world class skiing in the winter. Take away the mountains and yes its a lot less fun than Austin.
Seattle has that and water sports
seattle wasn’t mentioned above and the skiing isn’t comparable neither is sunshine (would choose summit country skiing over washington) but y’all have a whole lot of issues someone from the not west coast wouldn’t be into and its why some are leaving Denver now. Downtown Denver used to be cool and now you better not be there at night.. and good luck finding a restaurant with available bathrooms. Went in Feb and Denver’s on the downward Austin is the new new. Austin also has no state income taxes only Federal, sales and property taxes. 70 degree Christmas’s maybe a freeze 2-3x a year but very mild winter and water Lake Travis, town lake or Guadalupe river for summer floats.
