I'm depressed to work for others. I've had some entreprenual qualities since a very early age. I can work my ass off when I'm working for myself. But, I'm on H1B and this is stopping me from following my dream. Green card is like a fairy tale. What should I do? I want to work for myself. I want to struggle for a real cause (have already been struggling to meet someone else's deadline) I'm jealous of the infamous entrepreneurs, not because they are successful but, because they have courage to take risks. I don't. I feel like shouting out loud to take out my frustration but haven't done it anytime. Have been avoiding reading about startups because it drives me crazy. Is the grass really green on other side? Or am I just assuming that entreprenual path is exciting? Any first hand experiences? TC : 230k. House hold: 400k.
Move to Canada , get citizenship and start your own startup there
What's stopping you from hustling on the side to follow your dream? What is your dream?
No, not on H1B. Working for myself is the dream.
Marry someone and get the citizenship
Are you looking to a tech startup? What do you have in mind?
Yes, tech startup
If it’s a tech startup, after getting your funding, you are still going to work for your investors 😂. How about a subway franchise or Taco truck?
Move away from being SWE
How would that help?
SWE in general are trash tier citizens. Imagine thinking a bunch of smelly SWEs make the cut to be first class citizens
Dude go to India and make a killing. Feels like a golden opportunity over there. Take what u learned with you.
If he is on H1B and wants an extension - he better be in SWE. Hopefully senate and trump approves and everything happens fast.
Go back to your country and do it there..if you’re such an é entrepreneur why do you even stay here and deal with that..good entepreneurs can be successful anywhere
