Hello, I know this isn't LinkedIn. I want to share my story of failure in starting my own busniess after graduating and working a fulltime job as an engineer and going for my masters at the same time. TC 80K YOE:1.5 Why im sharing this? I tried to look online for people who shared some of there failure experience. Couldn't find anything related to do that only some just happy ending type of stories that after 100 attempts of building there own buniesses now they are billionaires. Little background about me? Back while I'm going for my undergrad I really came up with two products and both where more in biomedical that is related to hand gestures using muscle sensors. Which they don't exist in the market. So I had that idea before I graduated that I want to start my own thing my own website/ product and not to work for any company in the future. How much did it cost me and what happened? I spent all my savings (18k) for the busniess by reaching out to a development agency overseas to create a freelance website and added couple of features that are different to the ones in the market. So while the deveoplemnt team is building it, I started looking on what kinda of approach I have to take to make it work. So I figured that I have no experience/money to run that website and i can't afford mistakes since I spent all my money on it and traveling to meet the development agency overseas. The only way is to reach some angel investors and some qualified intelligent people to partner with them, so they can help out in making the right decisions. But at the same time I don't know how to negotiate, I kinda felt greedy but not asking for help. Conclusion I'm a CEO of a non running website 😂 So I'm still kind of depressed that I'm still working from home not leaving the house and still thinking about what decision I have to take. So since I'm intrested in the web/application side of things, I'm just trying to learn couple software languages, I want to start studying for leeetcoede questions to aim for the higher tech, but I always feel lost that my mind is all over the place and come up with new ideas day by day like getting started in daily trading, uber driving and leaving my job and learn something related to home construction( I know they aren't related to tech field) and sell things online. My mind is all over can't focus and concentrate on what is my goal. Questions: So have you started your own busniess and you endup failing? So please share some of your failure stories and what decisions you would've took back then? #tech #busniess #failure #depression #goal
It’s not failure that defines you, but the ability to get up after failing.
Nah it’s the ability to learn from your failures
Did you just correct my quote?
Are you another business student trying to make a software/webapp product lmao
Hahha na I'm software engineer
You’re still early in your career, and it looks like you didn’t lose much. You took a risk, and it didn’t work out, but you’re still keeping yourself afloat. You could get to $300k+ WFH job at a tech company with leetcode.
Hey, u can just buy a pre existing web template, then spend minimal cost updating it, total cost will be much lower like $1k
But theses templates are just informative websites right? Like there features for commenting having your own profile ( similar to Facebook thing) I don't think I can add these features ti the templates
You don’t seem like a technical founder. Either partner with a technical cofounder or learn it. It’s too difficult to start a company otherwise unless you already have money and experience which you lack both of.
