Satya vs Sundar
Context: among all tier 1 companies, Apple is a dream company for me and I found some DevOps/SRE roles recently. Trying to get more info prior to applying to increase chances. Looking to get some info from Apple folks on how the DevOps teams at viewed in the company - especially with all the “DevOps = culture, DevOps != role” where other tier 1s default to calling them SREs (Site Reliability Engineers). Specific questions; - What does the interview process look like? (Assuming it’s not the same as SWE) - How does the role scale up in the org? - What’s the difference between DevOps and “Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer”? - Any org/team is “ideal to join” or “try to avoid” for this role?
Usually I wouldn’t hire someone who has dream companies, sounds like a disorder of some kind

I was a contractor for data center services ages ago for them. Apple, at least that part of apple is a whole lot less full of shit than other groups at the company or silicon valley in general. Highly recommend. Would work there again.
Thanks! Don’t mean to pry, what kind of work were you involved in? I’d like to DM if you’ve work in a DevOps capacity to learn more of how they work over there.
Dm and I'll share.
