Hey, I’m currently a Software Engineer but I don’t think I want to be one much longer. I heard about the developer advocate role but wondering if that type of role is just as respected as Software Engineer? Does it pay the same a Software Engineer? Is it a good role to advance my career? Thanks (also I heard it’s good to put compensation in blind posts. 110.5k base. YOE < 1)
Your YOE?
Update?
I recently switched to be an advocate internally and it is pretty much the same with more documents and more focus on software engineer than business. I love it. Same pay as before.
Do you code on a daily basis?
Right now yes. We may split into two teams where one team just visits other teams and teaches them about best practices and other one builds template examples of good code and cicd
