ππππ I mean geeze what a bunch of losers. I'm sure they're all thinking "that's not me I just want X" when that dude is actually representative of an average anti work poster. For the unaware: An r/Antiwork mod did an interview on Fox and the whole sub is having a meltdown over it Who else finds this funny? #misc #reddit
That dude is exactly what you imagine when you think of a Reddit or discord mod
Do some mods have higher privilege on subreddits than others? How does someone get βfiredβ as a moderator (never been a mod)
Only Reddit corporate employees or another mod can remove you from being a mod.
Ok someone explains whatβs going on better than OP please
Antiwork is a subreddit. They whine about how they deserve better jobs, but do nothing to get better jobs. A moderator of the sub did an interview about the subreddit Fox News and embarrassed himself and the subreddit Now all the users of the subreddit are having a meltdown and trying to convince themselves they are not like the moderator
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/antiwork-reddit-fox-news-interview-b2001619.html If you want the full context. r/antiwork has a large following, many people have justified reasons to be sick of their jobs - worked in fast food, retail, meat processing jobs with poor conditions and trying to change upwards so they can try FIRE. Some nutcase "dogwalker working 25 hours a week who aspires to teach philosophy" goes on Fox news and attempts to representative of all of them. World goes nuts and people storm the subreddit enough that they need to lock it down. I don't agree with OP's premise that the person interviewed is representative of everyone there.
I like to read the subreddit but I donβt participate. They are all over the board so even though I did not see the interview itβs impossible he speaks for everyone on the thread with such different views. Some on there are upset about work in general and donβt think anyone should have to work. Some are simply upset about the salaries in their respective industries. Other are more so on a FIRE path and accept work as a means to and end which they are trying to achieve as quick as possibles
The least lazy redditor
β 30-year-old dog walker β Lives in parent's house β Trans activist β Can't look directly at the camera β Fidgets and spins chair constantly β Thinks 25 hours of dog walking a week is too much work, but aspires to be a professor of philosophy Literally the perfect example of a Reddit mod.
β Self-Admitted sex offender
Iβve heard of anti work, some of the posts are valid. Some bosses are truly horrible.
This. I don't know why OP here wants to diss the whole community because one nutcase went on TV claiming to speak for all of them.
It is quite easy to find a new job in this market. If they do not find one then they are lazy or completely inept and therefore their complaints are invalid. They expect to get more without doing anything.
Move over to r/workreform Much better name as people actually do wanna work full time, but are fed up of shitty bosses and wages not matching the enormous rise in cost of living.
π "I'm not just like that guy on TV. I'm different"
Bro you work for JP Morgan. You should be on the sub before most of us π
ITT: Loser tries to critique other people to feel less of a loser.
Why mad cppfoo? At what point in your life did you decide that people should get more while doing nothing?
That's your interpretation of what they are up to and it's extremely flawed to say the least. Like the other posters pointed out below, some of them did find better jobs only to be hit by corporate suing their new employers. Sitting in an industry where non-compete isn't enforced, easy for you to go on attacking people worse than you. Doing that instead of instead of trying to become like people better than you is what makes you a loser.
Still unaware after reading the βfor the unawareβ part :)
Antiwork is a sub of people who whine about how they should have better jobs but don't want to do anything to get better jobs An antiwork moderator had an interview on Fox News and he completely embarrassed himself and the subreddit.
I thought it's more like "we don't want to work, but still want comfortable lives"
