I currently work in PPC at a strategist level within an eCommerce company. How many YOE will it take and what does TC look like over the next 10 years if I’m looking to be moving every 1-3 years between companies? What can I expect for TC at each level? I prefer SEO and have 1 year of experience there along with almost 1 year of PPC experience. Role: Digital Advertising Strategist TC: $78K YOE: 2
In my experience it can be pretty dependent on the companies and industries you work in. I’ve been working in demand gen and digital marketing for about 4 years now. I will admit I did bounce a bit compared to most people in marketing (every year), but I think it sped up my TC growth and titles much quicker compared to others I’ve talked with in marketing. Role 1 - coordinator (healthcare): 50k Role 2 - specialist (insurance): 65k Role 3 - specialist (tech): 80k Role 4 - manager (tech): 130k Role 5 - sr manager (tech): 160k
I should clarify all of these were while working in TX and I’m not at sprinkler anymore after layoffs, but it seemed to work out anyways.
130k as a manager where? I’m making ~100 cash at a big agency.

Brother beaten severely as a kid. Doesn’t speak to dad at all now.
In your field. It totally depends on your ambitions, if you stay on current path, etc. If you stay in the path for 6-7 years you’ll get to AD level (120k+); and it will just go up from there. You could always go pivot to a startup as well and make more than in agencies, or sales.
I have plans to get to AD within 2-2.5 yrs at my current company. After that, what would next levels be and TC? Do I have to make a pivot to sales to get any higher?
Director/partner would be 200+ maybe? Not sure. You could pivot to performance marketing positions in tech, too.
