I am on H1-B with 16+ years of experience. Three months ago i decided to change job and started brushing all the core fundamentals. Touched down mostly all the important topics. Now i am disappointing as wherever i apply with immigration related questions - Visa, i get rejection email. However, mostly all the position ask those questions. I am still struggling to get interview call. Although, i am positive that i will get good one soon. Thanks,
Keep trying...hold your fort
Did you flip the "looking for opportunity" switch on LinkedIn?
Yeah. Although I got lot of calls but when they hear about Visa sponsorship- they go away
Its tough to get calls when on H1b I have been trying for 3 years now. I guess it also depends on the skillset if its niche and in demand it might be easier to find a job.
What’s your priority date? I am assuming you from India
2012 - June. Still long way to go. Dreaminggggg
The current state of immigration in the US is really working against you and I'm so sorry about that. The unfortunate state of it means that it's going to hard to find a company willing to throw the money at you staying in the country :(
What do you expect? I'm sure it's just as hard for a foreigner to get a visa in your country
I don’t think H1b should be an issue at this experience level. Make sure your resume aligns well with the jobs that you are applying. As everybody said, hold your fort. Get counsellors aide if required.
How long are you in US on h1b?
What type of jobs are you looking for?
Which companies have you been applying to?Usually big companies care less about visa more about experience.
You are correct but I have some degree of location constraint as well. Although the at my location, Amazon, Google. I am still waiting to get call from Amazon.
Try to update your LinkedIn with your skill set and location most recruiters search in LinkedIn and contact if your skills are needed
