What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I have an interview scheduled with Discover financial services. I do have a DUI misdemeanor which happened 2.5 years ago. Does discover hire someone with a misdemeanor? Yoe: 3.5 Tc: 0(laid off)
Are you going to be a driver for them? If not, then it does’t matter
They’re looking for like embezzlement and fraud type stuff
It’s an FBI fingerprint background check so they’ll almost certainly find that. Not sure that they’ll care, depends on the team maybe? A lot of old men here so you can’t be the only one, lol.
Who all will know about the conviction? Will HM find out? Or is it just HR?
Ethically, it should be just between you and HR. In my experience, HR is pretty siloed off from the rest of the company, so gossip shouldn’t be an issue. I just really don’t know what they do and don’t accept, and if, in fact, the hiring manager should have a final say on a matter like that.
They do FBI checks, so they will find out about it. But, I think they mostly care about financial crimes.
What all does the FBI check for? Don’t companies like HireRight do the bgc with previous companies and stuff?
They check for financial crimes.
I did disclose the conviction. I got an email that they received everything they needed and both FBI, SSN checks are in review state. How long does it take from here?
For me it took 48 hrs.
Oh cool. Thanks for the response
I have a dui , joined 3 years ago without any issue.
OP what was the timeline for the background check?
OP did they hire you?
When I was with DFS I knew someone who got hired with a DUI
