Hoping to have a discussion of tech careers in crypto, specifically with the motivation of working on more interesting and challenging problems 1. What are the FAANG of crypto? There are a lot of exciting looking projects, and I’m wondering which pay the most and that some consider grail positions. Companies that have caught my eye and seem to have good reputations solving tough challenges are Chainlink, Uniswap, Polygon, maybe Solana? Coinbase, Gemini, binance, opensea, larva seem like decent/good companies but not necessarily solving interesting problems 2. What do these companies pay? Any idea the comp at these companies? I understand there is a token component to comp that can vary 3. What are the top tech skills to have? This probably varies a lot but solidity and rust appear to be the most common languages, weighting by project size Knowing the EVM, how to write smart contracts, cryptography… what else? Contemplating a switch, but I think it would require going all-in and learning the requisite technical skills on top of accepting downside massive risk TC about tree fiddy 🌲
Why not create your own forked MEME coin and pre-mine a large %. Recruit others, get some marketing, pay off some youtube influencers and 4-5 months of work you have $5-10 Mil.
Like xrp?
just do what TechLead did if you already have some fiat money to provide the initial liquidity.
1. Coinbase 2. 75th percentile in tech 3. Any - all skills needed for various roles
Thanks. Are there interesting crypto problems being solved inside coinbase or is it primarily like a big tech/fintech company?
Mostly big tech and fintech for sure. But on product teams there’s crypto issues. It takes a little digging though
