There are companies out there offering lowball 500K or less to engineers with 15 years of experience at L6/L7+ levels. These are the people spending their lives in dark rooms staring at a screen where all others are having fun with business trips and fancy work dinners. Now, their sacrifice is rewarded by nothing. It's sad. We all became engineers because our parents were poor. We didn't have a choice. If this is capitalism, we are better off without it.
Half a mil and you’re still whining?
They make working class hate each other like that. What do you gain from pulling others down?
It’s actually true. They pit the working class against each other. Truth is, most salaries should be much higher than they currently are
What happened to the engineers that became engineers because they like engineering, regardless of money.
Most of those guys moved away a long time ago
Is 2 sigma hiring?
15 yoe at L6/L7 or 15 yoe total? Because 500k for 15 yoe total, would be very reasonable IMHO.
Bizarre trolling
Damn the privilege… lol and unaware of it too!
The world owes you nothing. Your YOE entitles you to nothing. You take what you can get, and if $500K is below you hold out for what you think you are worth.
Why is that the world owes billions to politicians and rich people's kids but owes us nothing when we need it?
so become a politician or get adopted by a billionaire. that doesnt change the fact that you are not owed anything. not to mention the obvious tech bubble where $500K+ seems to be your "right". Senior executives at many companies (outside your tech bubble) can easily earn less than that.
Stfu $500k is excellent you deserve less tbh
why do you think I deserve less without knowing me?
Because you’re a whiny little L and I know you
You don’t have to sit in a dark room you know that right?
I have 20 YOE, previous position was 650 TC, after layoffs I had to settle for 250 TC until market is better.
Damn it’s almost like making 500k comes with some sort of sacrifice
