Brother beaten severely as a kid. Doesn’t speak to dad at all now.
Hi, I am just terrible at salary negotiation. For some reason I always tell recruiters the lowest I’m willing to take instead of asking what range they can offer. I make peanuts at my current job but I have experience with the latest tech and a cloud certification so I’m really hoping to get paid what I’m worth when I move jobs. I don’t want to go through 4 rounds of interviews to get lowballed at the end. So I thought I’d ask what is the reasonable base salary range here. Interviewing for: senior software engineer YOE: 3 Location: NY (but I’ll be remote) Current TC: 95k #disneystreamingservices #salarynegotiation
Low but probably more than 90k
OP what was the offer??
I’m still in the pipeline. If it gets to an offer will update!
Good luck! I hope you get in 😊
Former Disney streaming VP. Stand your ground at 170+, HR low balls but execs can approve out of band and do every time.
Great advice
Hi everyone, thanks for your advice! I didn't get an offer after the onsite to use it but I still appreciate your input!
For P3, $140-160k salary and I think 30-40% RSU per year and 5-15% cash bonus. Could probably start at like $225k TC and see if they bring you down
Thank you! That’s really helpful. I will try that.
FYI Hulu and Disney streaming recently went through a "releveling" exercise to standardize levels. From most folks that I've talked to, the yearly comp numbers aside from base are fixed. P3 should be 7% cash bonus yearly target, 35% RSU refreshed per year. Base salary is what varies a lot depending on which legacy company you merged in from (Disney streaming services vs Hulu). Not sure if new hires have any variation from those numbers though.
