I would double the estimate to 6k layoffs based on the amount of duplication and forecasted savings by combining many overlapping divisions of Disney and Fox.
Estimates are about 3k layoffs. It’s a huge move in the streaming media industry and now Disney owns majority stake in Hulu and control a significant portion of the content people want out of their streaming services. If Disney decides to make all of their content exclusive to their streaming platforms they will quickly come to dominate the space alongside Netflix if they can do it at a reasonable subscription price.
