It’s beating Indiana Jones and the Geriatric Crypt-keeper. Why would Disney decide to not release it? https://www.newsweek.com/sound-freedom-beats-indiana-jones-incredible-box-office-coup-1811206
Disney is fixated on just investing in things tied to existing franchises. Such a waste.
Ahh yes. Sound of freedom. The movie Rolling Stone described as "a superhero movie for boomers with brain worms." Lol https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-reviews/sound-of-freedom-jim-caviezel-child-trafficking-qanon-movie-1234783837/amp/

Uh oh: President Trump leads Biden 49% to 43% in a two-way race.
It literally says in the article it was a surprise hit. Disneys a lot of things but even they can’t see the future. Who knew? 🤷♀️
You’re right. How would Disney ever assume that a bunch of parents who let their kids watch Disney programming ever be interested in a movie about protecting kids. Disney doesn’t understand their customers very well. They keep making moves that demonstrate they are more interested in protecting child molesters.
The political framing aside, Disney entertainment particularly theatrical has a major identity crisis, and the company from top to bottom has a foundational business strategy issue. The recent strategy seems to be lean left and be progressive, which, back of the envelope is really freaking dumb when the far left or even progressive left is about 25% of the country. Why the hell would anyone look at the total addressable market and think, “hey, what if we eliminated 75% of this?” Morons at the top, middle, and everywhere else. Nothing about politics, just bad business strategy.
