One of the Disney recruiter reached out to me for backend SWE on LinkedIn and I replied saying that I'm interested in the position also told that I would need a H1B transfer. Ever since then no response from the recruiter though I tried following up multiple times. Can someone from Disney/Hotstar recruiting or HR or whoever joined recently please confirm if there is any visa restrictions for new hires? #disney #swe #hotstar #engineering
The only way you would have a hotstar role in the US is if it’s within a DMED group that deals with hotstar data. And if that’s the case, there’s no need for them to deal with h1b transfers, there are plenty of data and backend engineers in the US who just got laid off. Considering how much extra paperwork, time, money and approvals is involved in a transfer, I’m assuming that’s what happened. So this unfortunately is just a supply and demand problem. Stay strong, keep on looking!
Most likely because H1B Visas need documentation and analysis on why they couldn't find the equal candidate in the US citizen population. They probably had other candidates already with similar qualifications so the likelihood of hitting that Visa would diminish.
Why would they sponsor H1B for Hotstar. Do they have roles in US?
