All of my recruiters have been Indian for MAANG companies so far. A friend of mine is a higher level manager at Dell and has told me that he has to keep reminding his Indian subordinates not to just hire other Indians because it’s a huge problem. Not saying I have the best resume…but I am a 3x startup founder that’s raised $20MM in venture capital and led my latest company from $0 to multi-millions in revenue within 2 years. I’m just looking for my next opportunity to stay busy. If I was a recruiter in tech and I saw a technical resume that had startup experience like that, I would at least give a pre-screening interview… Haven’t got a single one. Did all the other applicants invent unicorns or something?? lol TC: wouldn’t you like to know #tech #recruiting
Indians are the most racist to their fellow Indians. Indians are not like Chinese. Chinese tend to hire their own. Indians try not to hire their own. 85% of masters STEM graduates are Indians and hence you see them getting hired So it's a case of high numbers and not bias. The roots of this lie in the Indian history: the colonial and turkic invaders for 600 or so years always tried to split indians in caste and subgroups and promote a self centered crab mentality. This is true till date where major political parties are using the same formula. Indians do not think like a nation and one people, unlike many other countries like China
^This . Lot of Indians try to discriminate against other Indians.
Are you saying Indians are NOT like chinese?
Bring back trump
This 👆and let him bring Merit based immigration so that Indians can quickly get their GCs
How will that Merit based immigration be different from what’s happening now? Currently it’s just the number of H1B applicants from India is high so we run a lottery. What will change?
You have no idea, how intensely Indians hate other Indian’s 😆
Why
battle for prestige...bucket of crabs, etc
You are the problem with your racist mindset. You think it has nothing to do with economy and all dependent upon Indian recruiters? I will not call a 3X founder as I know they won’t stay for long so why waste my time.
Ah, there it is. Sounds like I struck a nerve. Apparently it is a problem, given the poll and what I’ve heard from execs…so maybe you’re projecting you’re “racism”
I guess I stuck a nerve by calling you out. It’s ok for you to paint Indians as racist but not ok for someone else to show you the mirror? Sounds like you have a fragile personality and flawed perspective.
Indian interviewers HATE me (also Indian) because I went to a TOP school in India. Its a school most of them applied to but couldn't get into. So when I turn up for interviews, they take pleasure in rejecting me. Sure, I dont leetcode and thats on me. But even in shit tier companies, I see this attitude.
Yeah, it’s the school you went to. Not your attitude at all.
I dont say my thoughts out loud, genius...and somehow, my attitude doesnt hold me back with white interviewers
Everyone's looking for excuses and someone else to blame.
Indians only like to hire Indians cause they can keep them under their thumb. This is it really. Same goes with any other nationality. South Americans like to hire people who speak Spanish. Chinese like to hire people who are Chinese. It is more pronounced in tech cause obviously tech is a large industry and most of the tech hires are Indians. I have worked in multiple organisations now and if I see a non-diverse team, I will turn away. As an Indian, I am ok working for Chinese fully knowing that similar to any other Indian manager he will work me to death but at least we can swear at each other in our own languages and not knowing what it actually means :)
This conversation is not new. I worked for Macy’s where a lot of the infra group were Indian and as Indians gained management positions they would often hire in India. The same as if white managers had a choice of local hires that don’t speak their language vs. remote that do. People try to reduce friction at work.
