My partner and I have lived together for like 5 years. We share most of our expenses, but keep our finances separate. We aren't married, and don't plan on doing so ever. Of my past 3 jobs, two allowed my partner to enroll in insurance coverage. One of them only covered spouses. Those were all in academia. What's the norm in industry? Is long term committed relationship treated the same as legally married spouse? It would be helpful if you could add your company and info in comments, but I'll add a poll to get an overall sense of the responses. #insurance
