Nobody around me is using it but I see its stock is doing well and it pays very well. Strange Edit: it’s completely fine to use Pinterest. Nothing wrong with that. Just curious what’s the user base like based on Blind and want to see what are your thoughts.
Deleted my account last week since they deleted my pins.
My bad
I am also kind of surprised with this. I think the engagement on the app is very low and I suspect they are inflating numbers in a cunning way by showing single digit growth so that it stays under radar of scrutiny For example, you will find that there are people posting pins where they have thousands of followers but how come not a single comment on the post? Very fishy, all the traffic is probably coming from Google search. Pinterest is sucking Ads revenue from marketing people who are spending on advertisements. Perhaps, they measure MAU/DAUs differently? But hard to digest a social media with 500 mil active users don’t interact with other posts by commenting. I have been reading financial statements of Pinterest from couple of quarters now. I feel that financial statements look very healthy but it’s also very carefully structured. And recent $2B share purchase program will sell well among investors but if someone read they mentioned it can be combination of purchasing on open market which is nice, buying through some private investors etc And it is no way guaranteed they will buy whole amount and can plan to not buy in the future as well. So, I think financial word salad in the statements are very doctored. No black and white but a grey a zone. Perhaps, CFO is very competent or crook. Time will tell. TL;DR: I am buyer at these prices. I think it is worth the risk
I was the Pinterest target market in its heyday - comments were rarely ever used. The point was to re-pin things to your own board so you could go back to them later. It was never a social network in terms of you communicating with other people, but in terms of idea sharing and saving. And I still use Pinterest. Easiest way to organize recipes I want to try and save it in an easy to navigate place. Most food blogs still link to Pinterest.
Tell me you don't know any woman without telling me
…… I’m a woman
So?
Separate topic, Pinterest has a bad track record as a company. Look up news about former COO Françoise Brougher
She made up a big outrage over nothing. Complained about having different vesting than other execs when she didn't join early like other execs.
Some girls I know use it
Stock doing well? Zoom back 12 months and see for yourself.
It lacks focus as a product- am I a marketplace, a social network, a search engine, etc. As a marketplace it lacks basic features, As a social network, users don’t care who the follow and have no interest in creating a discussion or original UGC.
But nevertheless, it is one of the few products I still use constantly for the last 15years - as an art director in the past, when I built my house and for inspiration for startups I support on the design side.
We make $2b a year, and profitable. Almost half a billion MAUs. It’s not Meta or Tiktok, but decent business. I also don’t know anyone using VMware (or even what that is exactly), but I’m sure it’s a decent business too
You should delete that last sentence.
Really? Your Pinterest servers are running on work that VMWare worked on….
I downloaded it on Android last year and the interface looked like it was designed by a high school student. Promptly uninstalled. Also interviewed there for a contract role, built them a sample of what they asked and never heard back from HM. Dodged a bullet I guess.

Netflix vs Quant vs Meta
My wife uses it for house decoration and cooking inspiration. I haven’t seen many men use the service. I personally hate it as every time I try to search for something online it takes me to a Pinterest link and there is no link to where to actually purchased the item. So I now usually include ‘-Pinterest.com’ in my searches
Chicks app
I really wanted to use that thing but I can’t even browse for more than two seconds without being forced to login.
