Last time I went to one was in 2017. I don’t normally care to watch a film the day it releases. I can wait. What are the reasons you go to cinemas if you do ?
Other ppl dragged me in
Yeah, I have AMC A-List so I go every week
Environment, buyable snacks, watching it with random people
Last time I went to a theater was in 2016 Don’t care about it unless it’s an interesting movie
Also it makes less sense with large 4K screen tv / projector / VR glasses in home and Dolby sound system, and home delivery of food. Cinema snacks are super overpriced.
Exactly It’s comfortable at home and movie theater snacks are just overrated lol
It’s more of an “event” at a theater. Aside from the screen and sound system doing its work, sitting in your PJs on the couch with your phone and other distractions just isn’t the same. Taking the ride with other people also helps make the experience bigger somehow.
007 is good for cinema too
Bruh don't give any promotion to this abomination
Pretty cool hearing the whole theater cheer when Thor appeared in Wakanda. /nerd Otherwise, bleh. If it’s not a spectacle film, I’d rather stay home.
You can avoid going to a movie theater with a premium home theater.
Meh. I find minimal benefit from some mega home setup vs your regular cheap 4k from Target. Once you get past 50-some inches it kinda doesn’t do much for me
The kind of "premium" home theater I'm referring to isn't obtainable from a store like Target that sells 50 inch TVs and soundbars.
The crowd adds to the hype and atmosphere of certain movies. Especially superhero movies and Indian masala movies. Also, you can't watch IMAX at home, Dune would've been like watching a desert documentary. Though in the end I go as often as I do because of my friends who are into it.
FYI: You actually can watch IMAX at home. https://www.imaxenhanced.com/
Excuse me, look at my flair, I'm making 🥜
If you haven't gone in a long time, go see "Dune".
Is it good?
Yes, highly advise watching in real imax
