I used to think airlines have the greatest customer service. Now they just provide the bare minimum. For domestic flights they even have no meals no drinks. Is it because every airline is cutting costs for their stock performance?
I was on a first class domestic flight recently and the service was crap. I’ve noticed that there are more delays also
Yes, they changed dramatically after COVID.. just the bare minimum on all airlines, customer.service is dead.
Actually it started changing after 2008.
There’s a race to the bottom when it comes to prices. A lot of people book the cheapest airline prices. So airlines cut costs to match and nickle and dime you to get all the benefits back.
Yep, people want the cheapest ticket possible and the airlines are cutting costs to deliver it to them. People that want the extra level of service can buy business+ class tickets.
They have also gotten cheaper. If you want to have a better experience, pay for business or first. Or just buy a meal in the airport and eat it on the plane.
Tickets have gotten cheaper? Yes & No. Comparing prices preCovid and 2021-2022, the same domestic ticket I would get between two places on the same weekday are $100-200 more. Only speaking on Delta and American. But do see cheaper cheaper frontier and spirit tickets which don’t offer first class that I’m aware of.
I fly southwest and it’s fine

Brother beaten severely as a kid. Doesn’t speak to dad at all now.
Fly first class you'll love it.
I was just on first class - and honestly it seemed awkwardly similar to what coach was 20 years ago.
