When preparing an on-site portfolio, do you include a slide dedicated to explaining your motivation for wanting to join the company?
Yeah I do as long as it’s genuine and not corny
I have one/two sentences about it during one of my about me pages. It’s not even written on the slide. Just part of my talking points.
As someone who has interviewed about 100 UXers over the past few years the trend I notice is that designers waste 10-20 mins of time up front with a lot of details like this and then they run out of time for their design presentation. If you want to include it then use it as a talking point or save it for later. What is the relevance of that info during a portfolio review?
Hi there, I am seeking for some help with my case studies from experienced UXers. I was wondering if would you be able to help with reviewing one of the case study/presentation? 😭🙏
I leave it to the end and skip it depending on how much time is left over after Q&A of each case study
I do
It’s at the end and it only takes a minute

No. We want to know 3 minutes about you and then 57 minutes about your design. Save that for the 1/1. You don’t have a lot of time in PR for that.
