is it just me or does anyone else sense that Lyft’s matching algo and ETA estimations are far inferior to Uber’s? i have no association with either companies. started using ride share when Lyft first launched but organically gravitated to using Uber more over time. tbh, i notice the keyword “incompetent” naturally pop up in my mind often times i’m waiting for/riding Lyft...
Whichever offers a cheaper ride
Same comment/question I had for prior poster — Thanks for sharing, yeah that makes sense.. would you stick to one if they were the same? 🧐
If the price is same I would use uber
No preference, whatever is cheapest at the moment. And this is exactly why they will fail.
Good point
I would add the Uber's shared ride matching is more efficient than Lyft's
Lyft because they give me discounts for having 5 star rating. But really it’s just whoever is cheaper
Cheaper which is most of time uber for me so now I have stopped opening Lyft completely.
That was happening to me, but after a while of using mostly Uber they started jacking up the prices so I went back to checking both. Uber had started showing almost double priced and of Lyft sometimes.
Usually use Lyft more often. I find the vehicles are nicer, and the cost is almost always a bit less. That being said I do compare the cost of both every time I use them.
I check which one is cheaper at that time and go with that option
I do the same as everyone else check both and pick the lowest cost ride. Does anyone know if there is an app that can perform a search across all the ride share applications in one go and order the cheapest so you dont have to open up multiple apps.
I don't think both apps have open APIs to allow that
Google maps lets you see Uber and lyft approximate cost and current surge rate.
Poor poll. Lyft almost always for me. It's faster and cheaper but I'm not loyal either way. The locality rewards help.
If I wanted it to be a poll I would have set one up
Lol, ok fair enough
Both ETA are crap (especially ETA for pickup). Although I prefer Uber’s UI, I use whichever is cheapest.
Makes no difference to me. I open up both and see which is cheaper
