Have emergency braking, it is law that when you hit you will be at fault, with crazy drivers in bay area it is better to have it, it also comes with stop and go traffic which is a plus !!
When you are stuck in traffic, adaptive cruise control will be very useful
Same, I found this to be really useful sometimes, but it doesnât do a good job of keeping the distance close / and it doesnât react soon enough for merging traffics, so I often have to manually brake hard for those line cutters.
Which car(s) have you had that experience with? Considering it in my next
Most civic and even corolla level cars come with those features included... adaptive cruise control helps with stop and go traffic which takes off a lot of stress. The question is if youâre buying a new car itâll likely have the feature already unless youâre buying a car thatâs 3-4 years old. All these features are safety aids which helps you avoid accidents so I think you should welcome them. It does cost more in German cars if you want these whereas theyâre more or less included on several Japanese cars
A lot of drivers are shit, so yeah they do help. For the rest of us who understand how to operate a car and donât text while driving, theyâre not as useful
Theyâre all useful! I canât imagine driving without them. Adaptive cruise control, is like set and forget. Lane keep assist is useful on curvy mountain roads. Blind spot monitoring is awesome when driving large vehicle when even head turns wonât cover everything
It honestly sounds like the car isnât a good fit for you. You shouldnât need all those technologies to operate the car.
If ever your insurance provider reads this, your premium will shot up to Mars
Get a Tesla. Use most of those features.
I still drive a manual. All I need is ABS. I can actually drive though and enjoy driving
You also need a traction control and electronic stability control for slippery conditions.
âNeedâ is not the right word here. âWant,â maybe, as long as you can toggle them off sometimes.
Iâm a frugal guy with a shitty car. But when I drove my sisters car 350 miles then Adaptive Cruise Control was awesome. However, the lane alert annoyed the hell out of me.
Love adaptive cruise. Blind spot is nice. Lane keeping is annoying AF. (Volvo)
Yes, especially useful for new drivers.
Seems harmful to new drivers to me because they wonât learn to drive without a bunch of fancy electronics.
