Even if they lift the lock down, do you trust sending your kids to daycare or prefer hire someone at home to teach them or maybe less crowded home care option?
People don't have other choice. If they tell you to be at work, what else going to do
I mean almost no kids have actually died from covid. But it’s a legit concern if you’re afraid of catching it yourself.
You are thinking on the first level only. The kids will bring it home, the parents will get sick. Who is going to take care of the kids
Unless those parents are over 65 or have a preexisting condition, their likelihood of death is very low. Out of 1 million NYC residents who are <65, healthy, and have been exposed, less than 100 have died. Also, picture how long your wait list is going to be to get into another childcare center after half of them have gone bankrupt in the next month.
Not immediately... maybe in like August?
I know someone who is keeping their kids in a daycare currently
Did anyone get sick?
Did you trust them before the shut down? I think too many people want to continuously stay home.
The problem is that when kids were sick with fever or flu or whatever... Parents were still sending their kids to daycare so they could work. Now.... Hopefully the parents think twice
They won’t. As an immune compromised person, my biggest concern is people with kids. They’re continually sending sick kids to daycare and coming to work, spreading all kinds of less deadly disease even not during a pandemic.
Absolutely not if I can help it. The virus is still just as scary as it was a month ago. I have friends that work in the ICU and I wouldn’t want my child or anyone I know for that matter to be possibly exposed.
It's not as scary as a month ago. They numbers are CONSIDERABLY lower than they thought a month ago.
Due to isolation... not that hard to see the correlation.
No
I’ve had a sitter come 4 days a week anyway so I could sustain it for longer, but once daycare opens I’ll have to start paying for it again, whether or not he goes, so not very interested in paying for a sitter and daycare. I’m not sure, it’s currently not slated to open until July anyway.
Nope. I won't even let my toddler go to his weekly music group. Not for a couple months at least.
