When you travel domestically, do you use clear me at the airport? On my side, I didn’t have a faster experience compared to TSA Pre-check. Link: https://www.clearme.com
No need, i have precheck and usually wait no more than 5 minutes. Once or twice it was like 15
If you were at SFO yesterday you would have waited 45+minutes to get through the ID and boarding pass checkpoint.
With or without TSA Pre and Clear?
Get your nexus card for something like $50 for 5 years it qualifies you for precheck
The Pre line at SFO and other airports can be brootal. A few weeks ago, knowing I would miss my boarding waiting for Pre line, I was able to pay to reinstate my CLEAR membership (I had a free trial) and get through screening in under 5 minutes. You can sign up for a trial in under 10 minutes. The cost of a year of CLEAR can absolutely be less than cost & time lost from a single missed flight.
Not a ton of airports have the Clear line. I fly a lot, so I got Global Entry instead.
Clear + pre-check is great at most airports where it’s available.
Fly enough and it is worth it. At one airport I use the tsa pre line is never more than 5 people. At another one of my frequent stops the precheck line can be 30-50 people long. If Clear only saves me 1 minute most of the time but saves me 20 minutes once it is worth it
It doesn’t replace Pre, you use it in conjunction with pre. You skip the ID check line and go straight to the belt. It’s saved my ass a few times when time is tight. Clear only speeds up the ID check. That is it.
When I use Clear at San Francisco airport, I skip the TSA Pre line, but they put you in the line where you need to remove your laptop and shoes. So slower at the end.
Maybe your boarding pass did not have precheck on it. I have never had that experience at SFO.
