I wonder if people use office laptop for personal use like browsing, YouTube, Netflix or may be for pet project.
The entire second season of Silicon Valley shows you why you shouldn’t ever do pet projects on a company laptop lmfao
Yeah Silicon valley has definitely increased the awareness.
I didn't watch it, bit busy with interviews and office work currently. Can you brief on what it says?
Depends on the company policy. Most monitor every keystroke and Internet activity, but don't do anything about it. Pre Covid I was watching a movie on Netflix with friends at work and no one really bothered about it. A couple of days later, a colleague from a related team was fired for watching porn.
OMG
Watching porn in office?
Why would you want to though. Separation of concerns. Single responsibility principle. Privacy.
घंटा (ghanta)
It's an office laptop not Object oriented one.
I think you need to disable the company VPN before doing anything personal.
I do but I run a an IT build of Windows in a VM that uses a VPN to connect to the corporate network. IT has no visibility to MacOS side where I do my personal work via my home internet.
What else is the purpose of company laptop ?
I came on my office laptop and the keyboard stopped working. Couldn't open and clean it up because it was stupid mac, requested a fix up as a water damage.
😂😂👏👏
I’m wondering why people think no personal use on company laptops. Lets see you accidently clicked the Apple news app/notification in your Macbook, is there anything different with you actively browsering news?
This is grey area. But what abt Netflix or may be porn?
@Hdvgs porn is not about “personal” but about whether the content is illegal. Netflix is not too much different from the videos embedded in the news app, right?
