Are you remote? Please comment and let me know if your team allows remote work or are based out of PST timezone
As I understand it, RTO only applies to people who weren’t hired as remote. My location on my job offer and everywhere it’s listed in a system is “Remote - Texas” Edit: My understanding was incorrect. Even if you were hired remote, you have to go hybrid if near a major office
Sadly this does not count. I was hired as remote and the FAQ page states this is irrelevant. Even if people were remote before Covid the new policy is to be “hybrid” for everyone. Remote exceptions are case by case basis pending management approval.
Wow. That’s wild.
Most ICs have not yet had any change forced upon them. My team is still mostly remote. The more I go into the office the more I realize how inefficient it is. Especially for teams who are globally diverse it just does not make sense. Middle management will push back.

RTO was just announced this Monday. Remote options are on a case by case basis now pending approval form management or if you live more than 1hr drive away from a major office.
What’s considered a major office? Austin, Boston and Seattle? There’s a very small EMC converted to Dell office near where I live, any idea if I have to go in there?
Check out the link in the email. There’s a list of major offices
