Got an offer from docusign and awaiting numbers from amazon. DOCU: TC 250k SF Yoe: 6 years + Masters AMZN: yet to come. #offer #tech
Join Amazon if you don’t have a life, you won’t have time for it
What type of role
Senior Software Engineer
Don't listen to Blind. Most people at Amazon really love working here. It's really team dependent, you can end up on a great team or a terrible team, so once you get the offer make sure that you talk to people on the team and ask a lot of questions.
Also, most of the managers are terrible and incompetent.
Not true, can't generalize like that
Blind is usually full of only haters. While Amazon can be difficult in certain places it also offers competitive pay and tons of opportunities in all sorts of domains
Beware that Docusign maybe broken up. It’s a clear monopoly on the online signature business
lol

Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
Amazon sucks, and I didn't really know how much it sucked until I worked elsewhere. TC will probably be more there, but you will need to stay at least 3 years to actually make that TC since they make you pay back your signing bonus and have a pretty low salary cap. I would take docusign if you're interested in the team/work itself, unless amazon is north of like 400k
What if you get pipped?
Bonus is paid over 12 months usually (depends on how large it is) for each of the first and second year bonuses, so you'll just receive a pro-rated portion if you leave early or are managed out
