Per title, does Amazon (or other companies) have different pay bands for front-end dev vs back-end devs?
the range is similar
Front end should be paid higher cause it’s harder, no offense BE
You live in that dream.
Explain how BE is harder I’ll wait
Different titles, same bands I thought.
Curious why they would have different pay bands if both have the same SDE title...? What happens if you move from BE to FE team internally? Pay cut?
This year became evident they’re not the same, FEEs are paid significantly less and they know it
Do you have any sense of the bands difference? I’m looking at an l6 fee role and I’d be curious what the pay range would be
Same bands and interestingly enough the L4 Band for FEE is higher than that of SDE. SDM here who has both roles on the team.
Ask yourself this. If you could only hire one to do everything for you who would you hire? FE or BE?
Frontend sme, hands down
Lots of conflicting information here. There is no difference (and if there was, it would be minor). We brought on an L5 FEE this year making ~300k in austin
Wish there are HRs or SDMs here to shed some light
Look above. I posted a response.
Missed that by accident, thanks for pointing it out :)
