Is it possible to WFH to receive a package or having a contractor over to do some fixes ? Can employees WFH for an entire week ? Example I'm visiting my family back home and I don't have enough vacation days to cover entire trip, so I can just work from home during office hours for some days
WFH for a few hours or a day is definitely allowed - I work from home a couple days a month usually. Work from home for a week would probably be pushing it
It would depend on if there are extenuating circumstances. Just wanting to visit your family might not be a good enough reason. But if it was around the holidays, you might be able to get your manager to okay it.
We have people on our team that have long commutes so WFH 2 days a week. It depends on the team though. Generally, I’d say that 2 days in a row is fine. I take long weekends when I go back home and just WFH Th-Fr or Fr-Mo. In my eyes, 3 days in a row would have to be an occasion/exception.
Depends on the team, likely not front office
Thanks everyone for your input. I should have tagged question for "Citadel Securities" as I came to know Citadel and Citadel Securities are different companies
I don't think we have a policy, per se, but most managers I know are reasonable and will accommodate when they can. Having said that, it will depend on your role and your manager.
Not really for my team but it’s dependent on the manager
Are you talking about your Google team or Citadel ? I agree with that. Some managers in my company don't allow it. Luckily mine is pretty chill and only concerns that we get results on time.
