Does FB review your profile history during the hiring process?

I've had the profile since I started college and like most people I'm sure there are some posts and photos from my formative years I would prefer my employer not see... Does anyone know if #Facebook does more than a glancing review of your profile during the hiring process? I considered going through and deleting the offending posts by hand, but something tells me they'd still be visible to FB internally, and it'd take ages to personally go through everything anyway.

Facebook doesn't care. Don't think anyone has the time to look through a candidate's FB profile

If they had, I am pretty sure I would not have been hired

Lol. Same here

Ditto to the maximum effort.

I certainly hope they don’t check anything that is not public or accessible through your network. That would be really gross.

I had never used Facebook before I accepted an offer from Facebook.

Aren't you glad to have escaped from under that rock in which you lived beneath?

Facebook aBgC17 Sep 28, 2017

I lived in China. Obviously there are far more rocks you can worry about than this one ;)

I really don’t think that’s part of the process. I never look at interview candidates’ profiles and I would only ever look at non-private profile information if it was necessary to do my job. Anything employees view is tracked. So the most I’d do is google a candidate and look at their LinkedIn profile.

Amazon rYNW02 Sep 28, 2017

What do you mean by "everything employees view is tracked"?

Facebook liIs80 Sep 28, 2017

Sorry, I meant that to be more specific than it sounds. Everything employees view using the type of administrative tools that would give them advanced viewing privileges. But if OP has everything posted publicly who knows if anyone would bother looking. I don’t believe that’s ever officially a part of the process but I don’t work in recruiting, I just interview people for my team.

I had this same fear. Now I'm on the other side and can confirm: They definitely don't have the time/desire to do so.

Facebook toppot Sep 28, 2017

No one looks at your profile as part of a screening process. A recruiter might look to see if you have employee friends who can provide referrals. An interviewer might (although it's very unlikely in my opinion) look you up before the interview. These people will only see whatever would normally be visible to them if they weren't Facebook employees. I have a hard time imagining anything on your profile being held against you.

Salesforce ObamaFan Sep 28, 2017

Recruiter will ask you about such friend fabookers. They don't have ability to find out by themselves.

Facebook WMPG22 Sep 28, 2017

Facebook would immediately fire a recruiter if they looked at anyone's private posts. There is zero tolerance for that. I wouldn't be surprised if they looked at public information on someone's profile just like they will look at your public LinkedIn profile information. I also doubt the recruiters have access to any private data.

Well, that's reassuring. I appreciate the help!

Facebook wIGW63 Sep 28, 2017

Zero tolerance for that shit and tbh no one has the time to do post interview investigation of that level lol
