Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
I am evaluating an offer and wanted to check if layoffs are regular and a concern when you work at HPE. My offer is in the (HPC) Compute BU YOE 10 TC 150K
Haven’t heard of any layoffs for 2 years (since the CRAY acquisition)
I have been in HPC Compute since four years and haven't really heard of any layoffs yet
No layoffs. Very good people
I was laid off from HPE Simplivity inJuly 2020 Luckily I found myself a position after interviewing with different teams Timeline to get back was 60 days The last layoff I heard of was from HPE Pointnext in 2021 But that doesn’t stop you from joining It’s just one of those things that might or might not happen
What's the offered TC?
I have worked in HP/HPE for 20 years. Layoffs are not regularly scheduled. In my time at the company I have seen 2-3 noticeable rounds of layoffs in my group, all of which were driven by market conditions. Most who were laid off were below average performers.
If you're asking about culture, absolutely yes, there have been years where layoffs happened every month for a year, just skim thelayoff.com for history. The worst part isn't the mass layoffs honestly, it's that theyre willing to lay off the top of the top. No motivation to advance when you've seen multiple DTs get laid off.
Honestly you don't have to worry if you're not part of a BU that's in loss or you're noticably coasting being at higher job level (any BU)
Hpe lays off all the time.
Yupp!
