Hi All, For all IBMer's or ex-IBMers or anyone else with the info: Does IBM allow signed Letters on letterheads for ex-employees? The letter here is say the Experience Verification letter which has to be signed by a Manager for GC (PERM) purposes. I heard that the IBM Managers cannot sign/certify documents on letterheads for any non-IBMer/ex-employees. As per IBM policy the managers can only sign a document in their personal capacity and not on a letterhead Any thoughts on this topic? Wondering what others have seen and also if this is a standard for other companies? #ibm #greencard #perm
I asked in the past and my manager said they won’t be able to give the experience letter in letter head. He said the policy doesn’t allow him to do that. So I got a letter in blank white paper from him and attached his IBM visiting card
@New- Thanks - Yup i saw that too, was strange as my friends havent seen that in other companies. SO figured- its for specific IBM groups. So seems thats the policy
Get a letter from the ex-manager on a non-letterhead and then get company’s generic letter on a letterhead.
@Walmart Thanks- So thats the workaround here then, the generic HR letter in letterhead + ex-Manager's signature on a normal (non-letterhead) document?
Yup. Usually that’s what many people do as most companies are unwilling to give exact specific details on the work done in the letterhead. So this combination works.
