Does LinkedIn hire Automation QA or SDETs?
I've not seen any posting for ths title by Linkedin. Was curious if they have this role in the company?

They do, I was reached by recruiter last year. Automation is more and more complex now a days And we need experts who can code well as well understand quality aspect and also support development team to iterate fast so dedicated person for this role is much needed in the industry including LinkedIn
How come some responses from Linkedin employees saying they got rid of SDETS and QA roles years ago?

This response is correct. We eliminated all QA and SDET roles many years ago. Teams are expected to do their own testing. The number of people (SWEs) that focus entirely on testing is a very, very small number, maybe less than 50 people across the whole company.
